Who this is for: anyone who finds the flat mouthpiece hard work to draw through.
The raised mouthpiece stands a little above the top of the device instead of sitting flush. The opening is wider, so the draw is looser and you do not have to pull as hard for the same result. If breathing effort is a consideration, that is the practical difference between the two shapes.
It also keeps your lips a few millimetres further from the body of the device, which is more comfortable on a longer session.
Neither shape is better. Having both means you can swap while one is soaking in alcohol.
