54 mm across
Anodised aluminium
Textured grip and a base for finger scooping — our supplier's description
Three colours. Works with any device
Full description
Who this is for: someone who wants a chamber to catch the ground material, in a textured aluminium body.
Three parts adds a chamber beneath the teeth: ground material falls through the holes and collects there. Santa Cruz Shredder describe a “spacious storage chamber”; unlike their four-piece grinders, they list no screen for this one. Santa Cruz Shredder say it “offers a secure grip”; our supplier calls it a “superior textured grip”.
The magnetic lid holds it together during grinding (Santa Cruz say they use neodymium “rare earth” magnets), and the lower section is shaped to be emptied with a finger instead of tapped out.
On the material: Santa Cruz Shredder's own wording is “Made from medical-grade anodized aluminum”. They name no standard or alloy grade. The phrase describes the material; it does not make the grinder a medical device.
Anodising is an electrical treatment that grows a hard oxide layer on the surface of the aluminium.
