Who this is for: someone who wants a battery that lasts, and exact control of the voltage.
A 510 battery is the power source. Your cartridge comes from the pharmacy with the medicine and the heating element already inside it — it has no power of its own. This one holds the cartridge inside the body and supplies the electricity through the 510 screw thread.
Setting the voltage. Cartisan's spec sheet gives 1.8V to 4.2V, with each press of the button adding 0.1V. Your dispensing pharmacy can tell you the highest your cartridge should run at.
Firing. Cartisan: "Both head and button smoking supported" — it fires when you draw, or while you press the button, whichever suits you. Press twice within 1.5 seconds for the preheat: 8 seconds at 1.8V.
Size and fit. Cartisan give two cartridge sizes: up to 14mm across and 51mm tall, or up to 12mm across and 62mm tall. Retail North add that the cartridge should be 0.8 ohms or higher.
Charging. USB-C. Retail North give a full charge as about 115 minutes.
