Who this is for: XQ2 owners running the balloon system, replacing a lost or cracked connector — or wanting a second so a fresh balloon is ready before the first is finished.
It is the piece that clamps the bag to the glass mouthpiece. It also lets you adjust how much of the balloon you actually use, which is how you avoid filling more than you want.
Its other job is to hold the vapour in the bag until you are ready — it holds the vapour in the bag, which in practice means it does not seep away while you get comfortable.
